Borrowing the aesthetics and conventions of scientific illustration, the work alleges the documentation of a strange phenomenon; the finely featured abdomen of this four millimetre Australian peacock spider subtly reveals an image of the British Crown Jewels. The co-option of scientific conventions lends a fictional authority to the work that considers the cultural implications of the world we engineer via our mastery of the natural sciences.
