These engraved granite drill core samples, originating from the Yilgarn Craton, were destined for disposal. The hours spent engraving allowed contemplation of their lack of value as determined by the absence of detectable gold.
Here lies truth ii represents another discarded byproduct of mining, in this case granite, one of the oldest known rocks and the main component of continents. The geological history of granite provides the main evidence of the growth and evolution of continents through time.
