Colliding worlds

41 laser engraved Petri dishes

1200 mm x 1200 mm

In Colliding worlds we glimpse, through the iconic Petri dish, the interface of connections: political, scientific and cellular. The black background allows the work to be viewed as though through an oversized microscope, with the minutia of existence catalogued below. Dandelions create a discussion about evolution and the genetically diverse plants with multiple uses already in nature. Our world is a stage of evolution where we witness rapid environmental change. Science and technology continue their watershed discoveries with little pause to ask questions of consequences.

Colliding worlds creates connections to these changes through images that use cellular, geographical and habitational images and text.
