A maquette for fish reproduction

400 mm x 350 mm x 180 mm

A maquette (sketch or model), is used by an artist or an architect as a visual guide for a project. This fanciful maquette plays on the premise of human intervention in fish reproduction. As our natural fish stocks diminish, marine biologists use the latest scientific methods to raise fish within artificially controlled aquatic environments. There is much debate about how practical fish farming is and what long-term impact it has on the environment. In the interim these activities help humans to meet their demand for fish consumption and hopefully alleviate the pressure on natural fish populations.
