A fleeting breeze (Mt Bruce)

Caustic soda etching on various supports

1000 mm x 1170 mm

’Grass withers, flowers fade

Indeed, man is but grass.’

Isaiah 40.7

Land is precious.

Life is gifted.

Human presence is but passing yet mountains linger for eternity.

Mount Bruce towers majestically over the Pilbara, one of Earth’s oldest regions.

The Pilbara’s 3500 million year old rocks bear testimony to hands that scribed, some faded, others’ clear.

Is not humanity just a fragile leaf tossed in the wind of earth’s million year tempest?

My work represents a defiant declaration of the triumph of the human spirit

and spirituality of the land.
