Transmarine ultramontane part 1

Oil on canvas

Transmarine ultramontane part 1 reflects an ongoing theme in my current painting practice of perceiving reality in unconventional terms and abstractions. Specifically, this painting explores the permeable nature of atoms and particles. How molecules are constantly being rearranged through geochemical processes and the circulation of energy, gas and evaporation, causing a mutual connection between earth, water and air. Some atomic particles are common to the molecular structure of the seas, the landscape and air currents; travelling in constant movement between and through each one, all unobservable to us in our everyday lives.
