Natural dye (Buddleja davidii), cotton thread on paper

Kate Little’s Buddleja explores the junction of art and science: the intersections of visual language and process. Using textile techniques (pleating, punching and stitching), she creates an ordered surface on which to examine the physical and chemical properties of natural dye made from Buddleja davidii flowers. Her work observes the relationship between data, process and material present in art, textiles, music, mathematics, science and nature.
