Antipodean nocturne

Moving image

Filmed from a rainforest eyrie overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Antipodean nocturne was created on a hot, humid and stormy summer night…thunder, lightning, the love calls of cicadas – elemental forces at play as the planet warms. This potent display of nature was a breathtaking opportunity to respond and record a night when approximately 13 000 lightning strikes were detected in NSW. Antipodean nocturne interrogates our resilience in extreme weather and our human vulnerability to environmental change.
