For All Was Like a Map, Kati Thanda/Lake Eyre

Works On Paper

Ink and watercolour on rice paper, 86cm x 169cm
The work refers to the fabled inland sea in a concertina book, where the whole is present but unseen until it is unfolded to reveal a print of an early map of Australia, with Kati Thanda shown in a blue wash surrounded by collaged printed shells. The map can lead us on a journey of the mind to a place of our imaginings.
