Fishes of the Murray-Darling Basin

Youth Art Prize

Finalist

Watercolour pencil and ink, 70cm x 116cm

Forty five native fish inhabit the Murray-Darling Basin, arguably Australia’s most important river system. Recently, the basin has seen large ecological alterations from drought, agriculture and exotic introductions, leading to depleted and fragmented fish communities. As an artist and biologist I aim to raise awareness for conservation and management of Australian fish.
